CBD vs CBG vs CBN – The Complete Guide to Cannabinoids

What is CBD, what is CBG, and what is CBN? Which cannabinoid is best for sleep, stress, pain, or inflammation? We explain the differences.

Cannabis contains over 100 different cannabinoids, but only a few have been studied in detail. The three most important for health applications are CBD, CBG, and CBN.

What Is the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)?

The ECS is a biological system present in all mammals. It regulates sleep, mood, pain, appetite, immunity, and inflammation. Cannabinoids from hemp act on this system.

CBD (Cannabidiol) – The Most Researched Cannabinoid

  • Anxiety and stress – 79.2% of participants report reduced anxiety
  • Pain and inflammation – CBD inhibits COX-2 enzyme (same mechanism as ibuprofen)
  • Epilepsy – Epidiolex (pure CBD) is the only FDA-approved CBD medication
  • Sleep – 66.7% report improved sleep

CBG (Cannabigerol) – The "Stem Cell" of Cannabinoids

CBG is called the "stem cell" because all other cannabinoids are created from CBGA. In the mature plant, it's very rare (below 1%). CBG directly binds to CB1 and CB2 receptors.

  • Anti-inflammatory – particularly effective for intestinal inflammation (Crohn's, colitis)
  • Antibacterial – effective against MRSA
  • Neuroprotective – protects nerve cells

CBN (Cannabinol) – The Sleep Cannabinoid

CBN is formed through THC degradation. It's mildly psychoactive and primarily known for its sedative effect.

  • Sleep and sedation – CBN is the strongest natural sedative among cannabinoids
  • Pain – CBN activates capsaicin receptors (TRPV2)

Which Cannabinoid Is Right for You?

  • For ANXIETY AND STRESS → CBD (5–20mg daily, under the tongue)
  • For CHRONIC PAIN → CBD + CBG combination (our oil has both!)
  • For INSOMNIA → CBN (or CBD in evening as alternative)
  • For DIGESTIVE ISSUES → CBG (anti-inflammatory for the gut)
  • For GENERAL WELLNESS → Full Spectrum CBD oil (entourage effect)

FAQ

What does "Full Spectrum" mean?
Full Spectrum means the oil contains the complete profile of cannabinoids (CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC), terpenes, and flavonoids – for the synergistic "entourage effect."
Why does your oil have so much CBG?
Our oil contains 3.1% CBG – extremely high for a full spectrum oil. The reason is the specific hemp variety and harvest timing.
Is CBD legal in Croatia?
CBD products with THC below 0.2% are legal in Croatia and the entire EU.
