Why Ashwagandha

Stress & balance

An adaptogen that helps the body cope with stress and supports natural hormonal balance and cortisol levels.

Better sleep

The Latin name "somnifera" literally means "sleep-bringing". Traditionally taken in the evening for calm, deeper sleep.

Energy & stamina

Natural support for daily energy, vitality and physical stamina — valued among athletes too.

Focus & clarity

Supports mental clarity, concentration and resilience against fatigue through demanding days.

High withanolide content

Active compounds (steroidal lactones) characteristic of ashwagandha. We use exclusively the root — the most potent part of the plant.

Pure root only

No leaves, no stems, no fillers. 100% ground root — the most traditional and potent part of the plant.

Recovery

Supports recovery and renewal of the body — traditionally classified as "Rasayana" (a vitality tonic) in Ayurveda.

No additives

No preservatives, no artificial additives, no fillers — gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan.

From the Himalayas to your table

The root is hand-dug from wild populations at altitudes of 2000 to 3000 meters, where ashwagandha grows untouched. Our partners from Nepal have known the best deposits for generations — without industrial mechanization, without damaging the surrounding plants.

Four years from plant to product

The journey from identifying the highest quality wild populations, through carefully hand-digging the root, traditional sun-drying in the Himalayan sun and grinding in stone mills, to importing into the EU through the complex regulatory process — took four years. Every step is handwork.

Our friend from Nepal personally led every phase. The powder contains a high concentration of withanolides — the active compounds responsible for the adaptogenic, anti-stress and hormonal effects. Unlike cheap powders that use the whole plant, we use exclusively the root. Laboratory tested for purity, heavy metals and microbiological safety according to EU standards.

A name that says it all

"Somnifera" — sleep-bringing

The Latin name of the plant literally means "sleep-bringing". Traditionally, ashwagandha is taken in the evening to calm the mind and for deeper, more restful sleep.

"Ashwa-gandha" — smell of a horse

In Sanskrit the name means "smell of a horse" — a reference to the characteristic scent of the root and to the strength and vitality the plant traditionally symbolizes.

Frequently asked questions

What is ashwagandha and how is it traditionally used?

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is a plant whose root has been used for centuries in Ayurveda, traditional Indian medicine, as an adaptogen. Today it is taken as a dietary supplement in powder form. Our powder is pure ground root of the wild-growing plant from Nepal/India.

What amount is typical and how is it taken?

The typical daily amount is up to 500 mg (about a teaspoon tip), dissolved in warm milk, tea or water. Many people take it in the morning with breakfast or in the evening. Follow the directions on the packaging; for health questions, talk to a doctor.

Who should not take ashwagandha?

It is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women. People with autoimmune diseases or thyroid problems, as well as those taking medications (e.g. sedatives or blood pressure medicines), should consult a doctor before use. It is recommended to stop taking it 2 weeks before a planned surgical procedure.

Why does your ashwagandha cost more than the ones in the store?

Our powder is a wild-growing plant hand-collected in Himalayan regions, and only the root is used — traditionally the most potent part. Many cheap products use the whole plant or extracts with fillers. The price reflects the handwork, the origin and the lab testing for purity and heavy metals.

How do I store the powder and how long does a pack last?

Store the powder in a dry, dark place, away from moisture, tightly closed. A 100 g pack lasts about 6 months at a dose of 300 mg per day, and a 200 g pack around 12 months. It is traditionally used in cycles (e.g. 8 weeks on, 2 weeks off).

Dietary supplement — not a substitute for a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Not recommended for pregnant or nursing women. People with autoimmune conditions or on thyroid medication should consult a doctor. Keep out of reach of children.
