Product details
Green Zebra is one of the most recognizable tomatoes in the world. Created in 1983 by legendary breeder Tom Wagner from Washington (USA), this modern heirloom was developed by crossing green-fruited varieties with a crack-resistant red tomato.
Wagner spent 25 years perfecting this variety. He sought a tomato with 60% green stripes on a yellow-green background, crack-resistant, with a tangy flavor.
Fruits are round, 85-150g, with characteristic dark green stripes on a yellow-green background. The flesh is emerald green, juicy, with a refreshing sweet-tart flavor.
Alice Waters from the famous Chez Panisse restaurant in Berkeley popularized Green Zebra in the 1990s.
